The Birmingham Bar Foundation is sponsoring "Hot Topics in NonProfit Governance - What You Need to Know to Serve on Community Boards" with topics that include the following:  Board member boundaries; Conflicts of Interest; Pitfalls of being a Board Member; The Role of a NonProfit Board Member; Compensation; and Accounting.  Speakers are Ann Florie, John Shank and/or Patrick Bowman of Barfield Murphy Shank & Smith LLC, and William W. Horton of Jones Walker LLP.

Registration will begin at 8:00 AM and coffee/pastries will be available.  Approved by the Alabama State Bar MCLE Commission for 3.0 hours MCLE Credit (including one hour ethics).  Online registration is no longer available; however, you may register at door with check (payable to Birmingham Bar Foundation).
