Practical impact from the hospital's perspective (validity and enforceability). Guest speakers for this program are Jackie Trimm of Burr Forman LLP and Stephen L. Sexton of Sexton Miller LLC.  Ms. Trimm's presentation will include discussion of the Alabama Natural Death Act: legislative history; advanced directives and living wills; DPOAs, HealthCare POAs and proxies; Surrogates.  Practical impact from the hospital's perspective (validity/enforceability).  Mr. Sexton will present two case scenarios with questions/answers involving 1) elder parent/Do Not Resuscitate Order/Power of Attorney/Hospice Care; and 2) long term partner/Power of Attorney/Advance Directive.  Program moderator is Linda Mittleman of the University of Alabama, along with co-moderator Lisa Robinson, Attorney at Law.
