To advance a worthy and far-sighted plan of our President, Bob MacKenzie, to better preserve the history of our Association and to provide a means of informing our membership and the public generally of its past activities, the History and Archives Committee is undertaking the task of collecting from the membership and others the following items (old or new, original or copy) which in some way depict or reflect some aspect of the history of the Association:
Photographs, newspaper or magazine articles, certificates, awards, correspondence, printed programs, manuscripts or documents generally or artifacts generally.
It is the goal of this project that some of these items be displayed in the renovated Bar Headquarters Building. It is possible that some may be electronically preserved for viewing on the Association’s website.
To further this project, President MacKenzie has designated June 17, 2016 as BBA History Day. If you have any of the items listed above that you would be willing to contribute to this project it is requested that you bring or send them to the BBA Headquarters Building on June 17, 2016 between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 Noon. Someone from the History and Archives Committee will be present to receive them. An accompanying explanation for each item would be useful and appreciated.
If you have any such items or items you would like to contribute but cannot deliver them on June 17th, please contact the History and Archives Committee and arrangements will be made to effect delivery at a different time or by other means. Members of the History & Archives Committee include William H. Mills (Chair), Samantha A. Chandler, Courtney Cooper, Michelle Crunk, Tom Elliott, Jr., James Michael Illston, Sam Rumore, and Jay Shoemaker, Jr.
