Nearly every business segment in our country has been damaged in some way by COVID-19, and there has been no end to the novel legal issues that have arisen in light of the pandemic and the resulting financial crisis. In Part 1 of the BBA Business Law Section’s 3-part CLE series, this panel of business law experts will focus on a number of general commercial issues: (1) long-term changes to the commercial real estate market as a result of COVID-19 (such as the drop in demand for office space, the reduction in shoppers to support brick-and-mortar retail, and the possible further growth of suburbs and rural areas); (2) the current status of rent deferment arrangements; (3) the complications involved in enforcing lease provisions; and (4) other general areas of commercial law.

Speakers for this LIVE Online CLE are -

  • Jack Kubiszyn of Christian & Small
  • John Pickering of Balch & Bingham
  • Jeremy Retherford, Balch & Bingham
