BBA Fee Arbitration Process

The Birmingham Bar Association, as a service to its members and to the public, provides a Fee Arbitration Committee to assist individuals and/or attorneys in resolving fee disputes. There is no cost to request the assistance of the Fee Arbitration Committee to resolve attorney fee disputes, but the decision of the Fee Arbitration Committee is final and binding, and is not subject to any reconsideration, re-hearing or appeal of any kind at any time to any other person, organization or court.

Per the current rules and regulations of the Committee, the BBA will only hear complaints regarding current members of the Birmingham Bar Association. Complaints not meeting this requirement should be directed to the Alabama State Bar.

To request the assistance of the Fee Arbitration Committee, please download a Fee Dispute form here, complete the information and follow the instructions at the bottom of the form. Please submit the form to Jennifer Buettner at jbuettner@birminghambar.org or in person at 2021 Second Avenue North, 35203.
